Lucy Rodgers ~ Dark Minds Blog Tour

(Click on Photo to be taken to the Tour Schedule)

An Excerpt from Maid for Pleasure
by Lucy Rodgers

Two hours later, I’ve changed my mind. I do hate this and him. My knees are screaming in agony, my back and arms ache, and my hands are raw. And I’m not even halfway done.

I pause and straighten, stretching my arms above my head. I want to quit. I want to take this bucket of water and throw it in his face, walk out the door and find the driver who brought me here and demand he take me back to the airstrip. Hell, I don’t even have to do that. All I have to do is utter the safe word we’ve agreed on and everything will come to a halt.

So why don’t I?

Because I haven’t gotten what I came for, and every nerve ending in my body tells me I will get it if I can just get through this test.

Gavin turns my crank. Even more than I expected. Before I came, I worried that even though I’d seen his photos and found him attractive, the chemistry wouldn’t be there in person. But it is. And despite the fact that he hasn’t touched me yet, not even in an asexual way, I can feel the thickness of the air and the crackling of the tension between us. He wants to do all the things he’s promised to me.

Even now, as I arch my back and roll my shoulders, I’m aware of him watching me. After I got down to scrub the floor, he took a large roll of paper out of a file drawer and spread it out on the large dining room table. He’s been there since, working on a project, I presume, while I’ve been on my hands and knees. I imagine he’s been getting a pretty good show, given my lack of panties and the way my breasts jiggle when I scrub.

In a way, demanding that I prove I really want to submit myself fully to him, without conditions or hard limits, is the act of a gentleman.

At the moment, however, that thought doesn’t make me any less impatient or resentful. I drop the scrub brush into the bucket. I’m done, and I’m willing to accept the consequences. What I’m not going to do is use my safe word to escape those consequences.

“Are you quitting?” Gavin asks.

I was right. He’s definitely been paying attention the whole time I’ve been working. “Yes, Master.”

God, saying that word sends a bolt of lust straight to my pussy. I’ve spent years wondering what’s wrong with me. How I could possibly be turned on by behavior other people would classify as controlling and abusive. Now, I know it doesn’t matter. I am. That’s enough.

“You know you haven’t finished what I told you to do yet.”

I somehow manage to get to my feet, which isn’t easy because I’m stiff from hours in one position, and turn to look at him. The expression on his face—cold and implacable—makes me so weak in the knees, I fear I might fall back down to them.

“I know, Master. But I need a break. I’m not used to this kind of work.” I try to keep any hint of whining or complaint out of my voice.

To my relief, the lines around his mouth ease. “I did ask rather a lot of you for a first day, didn’t I?”

Instinct tells me it isn’t wise to agree with him. I need to let him know that nothing he asks of me can be too much. “No, you didn’t ask too much. I just can do too little.”

A smile tugs at one corner of his mouth. He gets up from the chair and starts toward me. “Well played, pet, well played.”

There’s no mistaking the thick erection pushing against the zipper of his jeans. I close my eyes, swaying with anticipation. Something is finally going to happen.

“Open your eyes,” he commands, soft and low.

Even before I obey, I know he’s only inches from me. Heat radiates from him as though he’s an open flame, and his warm, cinnamon-sweet breath caresses my face. When I do open my eyes, I find he’s removed his glasses, and his eyes are an even more startling blue than I expected. Almost the same shade as the ocean that surrounds his island, and just as cutting.

I shiver, which makes no sense, because I’m burning up.

“You know there will be consequences for not completing your task.”

Oh God, I hope so. “Yes, Master.”

He reaches out and tucks a hair behind my ear. “I should make you finish, I think. I’m afraid you’ll consider the punishment I have in mind more of a reward.”

That sounds promising.

“Get on your knees.”

I blink my surprise as my knees scream in protest at the idea. “Master?” I can’t keep the note of pleading out of my voice this time.

“On your knees,” he repeats. “Now.”

Squeezing my eyes shut, I do what he tells me. As soon as my knees meet the cool, hard tile, I want to cry. They may not be bloody, but they’re definitely bruised. It’s even more agonizing than I expected.

“Does that hurt?” he asks softly. And, I can’t help thinking, with a hint of delight. He’s enjoying my pain.

“Yes, Master.”

“Good. It wouldn’t be punishment if it felt good, would it?”

I shake my head. “No, I guess not.” My knees throb in protest, but my clit throbs more. I’m enjoying my pain as much—maybe more—than he is.

With my eyes still closed, I await whatever else he has in store for me. There’s a rustling sound and the unmistakable scritch of a metal zipper. I know what’s coming, and I lick my lips just as he brushes the velvety head of his cock against my cheek. Not waiting for his direction, I turn my head and open my mouth.

He grabs the back of my head and pulls me to a halt. Wincing because his fingers are threaded up under the bun over which my lacy French maid’s cap is pinned, I look up at him in confusion. Have I misunderstood his intentions?

“The first thing you need to learn, pet, is that you never do anything unless I tell you to. All the initiative is mine. Understood?”

Swallowing hard, I nod even though I’m not sure it’s a rule I can easily obey. I’m a little too Type A to never take the initiative. But for two weeks… Maybe. I’ll try.

“Good. Now, you’re going to open that pretty little mouth of yours, and I’m going to fuck it until I come down your throat. You are not to participate in any way. You’re just providing me a hole to fuck. Got it?”

I nod again. Every part of my body is tingling with arousal.

“And one more thing.”

“Yes, Master.”

“You are not allowed to come unless I tell you to. And I’m warning you right now, I’m not going to tell you to come today. If you do come, you’ll finish the floor.”

I stare up at him, stunned and terrified by this order. Because I’m so lit up, I’m not sure I can keep myself from coming. And the thought that I can’t makes the need even harder to suppress.

“Now, open wide, pet.”

I open. And pray.

Maid for Pleasure Blurb:

Insurance actuary Libby Beckett is the epitome of a successful, independent, modern woman. With her six figure salary, she has a condo overlooking the beach, a BMW, and a closet full of fabulous shoes. So why isn’t she happy? And why do her fantasies always involve whips, bondage, and sexual slavery? Her desires are impossible to explain her buttoned-down accountant boyfriend, which is why when she stumbles across a website for a quasi-dating service for submissive women called Maid for It, she signs up. She’s quickly “matched” to Gavin Huntley, an engineer and inventor possessed of a small fortune and his own private island in the Caribbean. After carefully weighing the risks and rewards, as any good actuary should do, Libby breaks it off with her boyfriend and heads to Gavin’s island for what she promises herself will be two weeks to explore her darkest, dirtiest desires. When her time is up, she’ll say her safe word and, as outlined in Maid for It’s contract, Gavin will be required to release her. But Gavin knows what Libby truly needs, and it’s not to be free. She’s made for pleasure—his pleasure—and he intends to put her to good use. Forever.

Dark Mind Blog Tour with Author Ashlynne Laynne

(Click photo to be taken to Blog Tour Host, Dark Minds Book Tours)

Please welcome Author Ashlynne Laynne onto the Road to Hell. Ashlynne is the author of The Progeny and its upcoming sequel Blood Bonds.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of Ashlynne’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL  Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Ashlynne Laynne…

GRACEN:  Tell me three things about yourself that we cannot find on the internet or in your bio?

ASHLYNNE: I think the readers would be interested to know that I consider myself a Gothic flower child. I’m all for people doing their own thing, as long as it doesn’t hurt themselves or those around them. The diverse mix of people in my life has taught me to be tolerant and accepting of others and their unique qualities and differences. I’m also afraid of clowns and have been since I saw Stephen King’s It when I was a little kid. I think it’s safe to say that Pennywise made quite an impression on me. The readers may not know that my only child has Autism.

GRACEN: What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?

ASHLYNNE: I love cooking and reading. I’m basically a homebody and prefer the quiet and serenity of my home and familiar surroundings.

GRACEN: Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before beginning the writing process?

ASHLYNNE: The only thing some might consider a quirk is that I usually write the first three or four chapters of a book, skip to write the end and then fill in the middle. It’s easier for me to write if I have a stopping point in mind. Strangely enough, I already know what the last paragraph of my series end will be.

GRACEN: If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you do it?

ASHLYNNE: Hmmm…this is indeed an intriguing question. Being that I’m no Stewie from Family Guy, I don’t go around concocting plans to overtake the universe. I suppose if I were going to plot to take over the world, I might just place some subliminal messages into a few bestselling books and let the insanity spread.

GRACEN: If you could make one statement that the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?

ASHLYNNE: Be good to yourself as well as others and remember that whatever you give out, the universe returns to you, three fold.

GRACENWhat genre do you write and why that genre?

ASHLYNNE: I write erotic paranormal romance with vampires and Wiccans. I’ve always loved horror movies. My late grandmother took me to see Creepshow when I was young. It scared the crap out of me but also spurred my love of the horror genre. Of all the paranormal creatures, I have a soft spot in my heart for vampires. When I began writing The Progeny, two years ago, I knew that Ascher would be different and I wanted him to be. Sometimes I think it may have been better for me to just make him a full-blooded vampire. It’s tough sometimes to blend the two sides of him which often leaves my poor guy conflicted.

GRACEN: For those who are not yet familiar with Ashlynne Laynne, can you please give us some details about the book and/or series?

ASHLYNNE: At its core, The Progeny Series is simply a story about a man and woman who fall in love, and the fact that he’s a half-blood (half-human, half vampire) and she’s a Wiccan human are secondary factors. When we meet Ascher, he’s grumpy. Frankly, who could blame him? He’s engaged to seal to Ursula—a cold and careless vampire who wants nothing more than to get her hands on a bloodstone— and he feels conflicted about his existence.

All of that changes when he meets Shawnette McCutchin. She’s beautiful, intriguing and possesses some of the most potent blood that he’s ever encountered. A war immediately begins inside Ascher. He craves Shauna’s blood just as much as he craves her body and the closer they get, the harder it is for him to control his urges. After Ascher calls off the sealing to Ursula, the trouble begins. His family’s peaceful period ends when Ursula’s darkling army attacks the Rousseaus.

This series is about a family of which we’ve never seen before. They share a common mortal and immortal bloodline but loyalty is the thread that holds this clan together. Once you become a part of this family, the others will risk their lives to protect you. We see examples of this throughout the journey.

GRACEN:  Do you have any new stories in the works and can you tell us a bit about it/them?

ASHLYNNE: I’m extremely busy right now. I just re-released The Progeny last month and its sequel Blood Bonds is set to release in the coming weeks. I’m also working on books three and four of the Progeny Series, book one of my upcoming Rocker Series, and an untitled novella WIP.

GRACEN: If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.

ASHLYNNE: If I had to choose one word, it would be “emotional.” I love writing love scenes for my characters and I’m always focusing on the emotional side of the action—what is he feeling, what is she feeling. My philosophy is you haven’t given a scene everything you have until you leave it feeling like a piece of you is missing.

GRACEN: What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to pick up your books.

ASHLYNNE: The Progeny series is unique because it focuses on a love between a half-blooded vampire and Wiccan human. I can’t say that I’ve ever seen that before. But more than that, Ascher is unique in his own right. He has the characteristics of two very different beings.

GRACEN: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?

ASHLYNNE: I researched the gestation period of mice for a chapter in The Progeny.

GRACEN: Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?

ASHLYNNE: I rather love my villain Ursula. I write her to be hated but the there is a vulnerable side to her. At the end of the day, I truly believe that she just wants to be loved and seems to have the hardest time achieving this simple goal.

GRACEN: If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?

ASHLYNNE: I’d love to meet Ascher, of course. He is after all the one I dreamed of in the beginning.

GRACEN: Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance and why?

ASHLYNNE: I’d never want to meet those damned darklings. They’re wicked and bred to kill and destroy...not exactly my idea of friend material. I think they’re better left within the confines of my imagination and book pages.

GRACEN:  If you were interviewing yourself, what is the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that question?

ASHLYNNE: Have you completely lost your mind for writing about vampires and witches? My answer would be, “Hell yeah!”

GRACEN:  Thanks so much for joining us, Ashlynne!  It’s been a treat getting to know you better!

I love hearing from readers and they can connect with me in several different places online:

“No fate other than the one I choose.”

The timeless creed, and tattoo, bore by the Rousseau’s— a vampire clan with the purest bloodline of any vampire family. Out of this clandestine group came one who was different, yet the same: Ascher-a half-bloodling— half- human, half vampire.

Ascher questions the purpose for his existence and which world he truly belongs to: the human world or the vampire world. Two months from sealing to Ursula— a prearranged union to a woman he abhors — he’s at his wit’s end. He knows if he calls off the sealing, the Romanian clan will strike with deadly force, but he cannot see eternity with a cold empty shell of a woman like Ursula.

Just when he thought life was complicated enough, he meets Shauna— a beautiful, bi-racial human Wiccan — and immediately develops an unshakable attraction to her. She makes him feel alive and vital despite his origins and Ascher makes a decision that turns his immortal world upside down.

EXCERPT: (I call this excerpt, ‘Close, but still no dice.’)

Shauna sat at the vanity in Ascher’s room. Brushing her hair seemed pointless and painful—everything reminded her of her sister. The very brush she raked through her head was a gift from Katy. She couldn’t shake the feeling that Katy was in pain. She dreamed of her in the dark, scared, holding on to what was left of her sanity.
“She was going to be Valedictorian.”
“Was? Why are you talking about her like she’s already dead?”
“I’m so afraid that my sister is gone. There’s no way to know what those maniacs have done to her!”
“Shauna, Katy has a support system waiting for her when she gets home. Tristan and I will treat her. With love and support, she’ll heal. I believe in that. She needs you to believe in it, too. ” Ascher reached for her.
She refused to let him hold her, stepping away from the comfort of his embrace. She didn’t want it. “No! I’m tired of this pain,” she blurted out. “I just want it to stop! Everything is just so screwed up right now,” she cried with rage. “I’m poison, bad for everyone who loves me. Stay away from me!”
“Calm down. This isn’t good for you.”
“Good for me? I don’t even know what’s good for me, anymore. So how can you pretend to know?”
Ascher disappeared from her sight, reappearing closer to her, hugging her to him.
She fought against his embrace, sorrow’s river streaming down her face.
This isn’t your fault, Shauna.”
Her body tensed against his warm touch. “I just want to be numb. Feel nothing for a little while,” she whispered. “Know what I mean?”
That isn’t you. You face things head on. You’re so strong.”
“I don’t feel very strong.” Her eyes shifted away from his face. “Look at this. You’ve fixed this room to suit me, but this isn’t my home. I don’t have one. My parents hate me so much that my sister has to lie to see me. I can’t go to my apartment because it’s not safe. Gypsy’s dead. Katy might be dead. I don’t belong here and I don’t even know where I belong anymore.” She sobbed, while pounding her fists onto his chest.
“You’re hurting. That’s the thing about having a heart. It breaks and yearns for things.” His eyes caught hers, love pouring from them, stunning her with their sincerity.
“What does your heart yearn for, Ascher?”
He didn’t immediately answer her.

*    *    *    *

Ascher held her even tighter, gripping her with the need to protect her from harm. She brought the warrior out of him, that fierceness he’d witnessed in his brothers but never thought he’d ever possess. His hold now mimicked his desire to shield her, shelter her, but mostly the overwhelming need to possess her, completely. “You’ve never been more wrong, about anything, in your life,” he murmured, his eyes sweeping hers. “This is exactly where you belong, with me and my family—the ones who care about you. I can’t tell you I know how it will all turn out, but I will tell you this. I’ll be there for you as little or as much as you need me to be, if you want to talk about Katy, or anything else. All you have to do is talk, because I’m always listening.”
Ascher pulled her to him with possessive arms, an aching in his lips, hungering for the touch of hers. This was what his heart yearned for. His gaze scorched her, smoldering intention into her.
Shauna froze, her gaze fixed on his pale stare.
He guided her back towards the bed, her feet stepping with his, their hearts beating eerily in sync.
Shauna fell back against the bed, while his arms directed her to the center. She continued staring, her gaze unmoving, her lips an equal participant in the passion playing out between them. Ten seconds was all he needed to undress them, leaving their bodies heated and grinding against one another.
The crimson blazed in front of his vision. He wanted her and was ready to cement their love, to make her his.
Trepidation was a thing of the past. She knew what he was and somehow, she still wanted him. He dropped his head onto the pillow, concealing his blood red gaze.
His voice was rough and husky—he’d never imagined such a sound could come from his lips. “I know you say this is what you want, but are you sure? I want you to be so sure about this. Once I’ve made love to you, I can’t take it back. I want you. I swear to you there is nothing else I want more. I don’t want you, if you’ll regret this tomorrow. I couldn’t live with myself, if you ever regretted this.”
“I’ll never want anyone more. The sky could crash down around me and I wouldn’t care, as long as your arms were the last things I felt before I died.” She tightened her arms around his neck. “I’m not disillusioned about what I’m doing and I can deal with the consequences of my actions. I want you, more than I want to live or breathe.”
He grazed her neck with his tongue, picking up traces of her delectable essence. His lips deluged her soft skin with careful kisses, his finger exploring her with a gentle urgency.
Her opening was tight and only allowed the tip of his finger to enter.
Shauna moaned, her neck craning back, exposing the constant thump of her carotid.
The craving sparked in him, his fangs paining beneath his gums. He wanted another taste of her. No. You can’t bite her again. Get control of yourself.
“Do it,” she moaned.
“If it pleases you, then do it.” She brought her neck back to his mouth. “Bite me, Ascher. I want you to.”
Shauna smoothed her hands along his stomach, his chest—stopping before they reached his shaft. She seemed unsure.
After his curt reaction to her exploring his body, the night before the blow up, he didn’t blame her. Now, he wanted her to touch him, feel him and discover every part of his anxious body. He grabbed her hand, placing it on his steel stiff shaft. Her soft hand felt good—too good, as it stroked, played with, and explored every inch of him.
The fire in his throat blazed, causing his thirst and desire to ignite. He wouldn’t be able to keep control much longer.
Her lips found his neck, sucking, licking and kissing, while her hands stroked him with a steady, unchallenged rhythm. Her mouth and hands mocked his control, making him vulnerable, his body feverish with yearning.
“Do it,” she whispered, again. “I want you to.”
“Shauna,” he groaned, his face pressing in the pillow. “I shouldn’t---”
“Don’t hold back, you won’t hurt me. Bite me. Come on, Ascher—do it.”
Insane amounts of pleasure coursed his body, bringing countless sensations—fire, thirst and the yearning to be inside her.
Another flick of her tongue across his neck, in just the right spot, was all it took. Fangs sprang from his gums, their intentions obvious. His body reacted with a climax that bubbled up and burst from him, bringing release, but taking his control.
It was too much pleasure for his body to endure. He finally experienced the implausible feeling of a climax given to him by the woman he loved.
It was a first for him.
He searched along her neck with his mouth for the spot, the precise place that the flow was heaviest. He found it and sank his fangs into her. A deep and satisfied moan escaped her lips as her eyes rolled.
Ascher continued to rub, play with, and manipulate her clit with his fingers. The warm, delicious blood, flooding his mouth, quenched his thirst but fueled his hunger for her body. He was drowning, deluged by pleasure, his arms filling with her exquisite figure. This feeling was like none he’d ever experienced. Her body bucked against his fingers but the tightness remained insistent in preserving her virginity. Her breathing was shallow, hurried, the moans deepening in intensity.
This time, it was easier to disengage his fangs.
Pressing against her virgin barrier made him stiffen. She was so wet and his climax did nothing to quell his desire for her. Ascher wanted more and he had so much more to give, as much as she needed. Engaging her in a deeper kiss, he slipped his tongue into her mouth, stroking her tongue with his. It was the first time he’d kissed her this way.
Her response was immediate, as she pulled him closer.
With demanding arms, Ascher lifted her hips up to him, preparing for their first time. Tingles joined the burn coursing inside him. He swept her neck with his mouth, his tongue sliding along her carotid, the sensations relaxing her rigid body.
He froze.
“What’s wrong?” she questioned without opening her eyes. “Why are you stopping? Don’t stop—you can't stop. We’re so close!”
A hurried knock came on his door. The banging threw him into full panic mode.
Ascher's body tensed.
She startled. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m not sure.” He pulled the sheet around her. “Cover yourself.”
The door flew open as Quinn flitted into the room, his face horrified and his eyes reflecting half-red and half-pale blue.
“Ascher, you have to come quick. It’s Tristan. He’s taken a turn for the worse.”
“Dammit!” Rage spewed through his clenched teeth.
Ascher swore and seethed as he grabbed his clothing and flew out of the room with his brother.

Hellish Guest Author Charisma Knight

Please welcome Author Charisma Knight onto the Road to Hell. Charisma Knight is the author and publisher of Reaper’s Fragile Ego, Book One of the Death Angel Series. (Psst! Readers should know there is a bonus free read in the story when you purchase from Amazon!)

Other books written by Charisma Knight is Claiming Julia which is due for release Friday June 15th from Amira Press.

Now, it’s time to create a little hell and get to the good stuff by revealing all of Charisma’s wicked secrets while on the Road to Hell. LOL Yeah, you wish! ;-D

Grab your favorite drink, sink your teeth into something decadent, sit back, relax and enjoy getting to know Charisma Knight…

GRACEN: Tell me three things about yourself that we cannot find on the internet or in your bio?

Charisma: I love to cook, make flower arrangements, and in the process of pursuing my Associate’s Degree.

GRACEN: What hobbies and interests do you participate in when you’re not writing?

CHARISMA: I can be found horsing around with my daughters and Significant Other when I’m not writing. I have a large family, a niece and five nephews so they’re like my adopted children. LOL

In addition to taking them to movies, the pool, swimming, or just running loose somewhere in the park I’m teaching them how to become entrepreneurs. I think having your own business should be instilled in children as they grow older. Talents can be turned into successful businesses. They are creative in art, writing, and many other things so I just have the drive to teach them to hit the ground running.

No one knows what this world will be like a few years from now. I want them to be prepared, go to college and enjoy doing what they like. That’s what I’m doing. Writing is my first business and being in the health care industry is my second business. It feels great to have flexible hours and not having to work. I absolutely love what I do, so it isn’t work to me.

GRACEN: Do you have any writing quirks or certain things you MUST have or do before beginning the writing process?

CHARISMA: Honestly, there are no quirks. A few years ago I definitely needed music when I started writing, but now that has changed. I’ve gotten into the habit of not having music or any television on while writing.

GRACEN: If you were plotting to take over the world, how would you go about it?

CHARISMA: I’d definitely have to draw up some blueprints on this. Perhaps maybe even contact that little white mouse from the cartoons….??

GRACEN: If you could make one statement that the entire planet would hear and remember, what would it be?

CHARISMA: Always be kind to others you encounter and please be helpful to each other. Success should not make your head so big that you can’t walk through the freaking door. Karma is a bitch, remember that. No one is so successful they can’t take time out to help someone else to achieve their destiny.

GRACEN: What genre do you write and why that genre?

CHARISMA: I write paranormal erotic romance/erotica. Why? Because, I absolutely love this genre! As a teen I received my aunt’s old romance books and I found myself writing (in my head) the closed-door scenes between the hero and heroine.

GRACEN: For those who are not yet familiar with you, can you please give us some details about your book(s) and/or series?

CHARISMA: I just released Reaper’s Fragile Ego, the first book in my Death Angel series dealing with Willa Mae(my feisty heroine) and Death Angel, Bane. Bane’s pissed because Will has stolen another soul from him and he’s in the midst of figuring out how to bring her to her knees. (Literally)

My hero has loved Will for a millennia, only she didn’t return that love and crushed his heart. (She truly didn’t mean to) With help from Despair, Bane concocts a plan to get Will within his grasp. Only thing is, Will has a secret my Death Angel didn’t know about….LOL  So, needless to say, he’s rather surprised at the end. That’s all I can say.

GRACEN: Do you have any new stories in the works and can you tell us a bit about it/them?

CHARISMA: New stories in the works include my science fiction piece that has decided to take on a new direction. I’ve had to re-write the plot several times to get things to my liking. I’m really starting to think my muse has associates covering her shift when she takes off. Seriously. Anyway, I thought I’d be finished with that story about a week ago. LOL

Anyway, this story is set in the year 2150 and deals with a totalitarian society where cybernetic organisms have taken over.

Another planet has been discovered and my hero/heroine are coming to turns with certain turning points in their relationship. Originally this was to be a short erotic story of 15K about a woman and a cyborg having hot sex. LOL My muse(s) had other things in mind. There is now a large emotional quality to this story and I really didn’t see that one coming.

GRACEN: If you could describe your writing with one word or brief phrase, what would it be? Please delve into the core of your writing to tell us what word or phrase you want readers to take with them when they’ve finished reading your story.

GRACEN: What, in your opinion, makes your story unique and what makes it stand out from other stories in your genre? Think of this as a pitch to convince readers to pick up your books.

CHARISMA: Wow, this is really hard to say because there are so many awesome books in our genre out there! I really haven’t seen many books written about death. I know there are Reaper stories out there, but they are few and far in between when it comes to other creatures such as dragon shifters, wolves, vampires, and shifters.

Death Angel came about because there has been so many deaths in our family last year and this year. I’ve been neutral during the entire process of loss because although I cried, I really didn’t break down. Many family members had been sick and I felt quite relieved because they no longer suffer.

There was a point in time where I became angry towards death because it visited my family so much. I started writing a story about a woman losing her husband, but I’ve put that one aside. Well, the ole muse started whispering in my ear and the Death Angel Series was created, with a double helping of erotica. LOL

Along with death comes the anxiety of dealing with certain emotions as well. If you don’t cry at the funeral, you’re looking around at other people who are crying their eyes out and you ask yourself, “What the hell is wrong with you? Why aren’t you crying?” Not sure, I guess I was just dealing with everything in my own unique way.

GRACEN: What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?

CHARISMA: Tee Hee. In the name of research, my better half and myself enjoyed a rather explicit night out on the town. Yes, after a nice movie we went to the Inner Harbor and then to Little Italy to eat. We both had a little too much to drink and had a rather—um fun experience in the parking garage. It wasn’t planned, and I really wouldn’t call it research, but it did give me a hell of an idea for stories. We were actually able to capture that euphoric moment you experience at the fear of getting caught. What a rush!

GRACEN: Of all your books, which character did you have the most fun creating and why?

CHARISMA: Out of all my books I’ve had the most fun creating Willa Mae. She’s the Angel of Will in Reaper’s Fragile Ego who gives the Death Angel, Bane a run for his money. She’s strong, yet dainty and she’s damned clever!

GRACEN: If you had the opportunity to meet just one of your characters in real life, who would it be and why?

CHARISMA: I’d love to meet Willa Mae. Perhaps because this story is still fresh in my mind, I don’t know. It has been quite some time since I’ve been intrigued with my characters.

GRACEN: Which of your characters would you never want to meet under any circumstance and why?

CHARISMA: You know, I’m not really sure. Out of all my books I created, I actually love all of my characters, some more than others I’ll admit.

GRACEN: If you were interviewing yourself, what is the one question you would ask yourself and please give us the answer to that question?

CHARISMA: Why did I start writing erotica/erotic romance? I’ve been asked this before and I’ve even asked myself the same question. Because, I enjoy writing sexy tales. While I’m attracted to writing in author genres, I find that writing erotica is a great way for me to express myself because yes, I enjoy sex. Sex is beautiful in all forms, from gentle lovemaking, right down to the fiery hot passionate rough play.

Sex is especially hot when you have that one real life sexy alpha male hero. He’s my better half and my soul mate. We’ve read almost every erotic book I own together and we bounce ideas off each other too. Together, we take the world by storm and I know there is nothing in this world he wouldn’t do for me. He’s proven that to me so many times over the years.

GRACEN: Thanks so much for joining us, Charisma! It’s been a treat getting to know you better and discovering your books!

CHARISMA:  Thanks Gracen for having me on your blog. I’d love to have you as a guest over at mine soon.

Death comes in various forms. Seductive and sometimes violent, the Reaper pervades into life like a thief in the night, and you’ll never know when he may strike. He holds a secret desire, one which has haunted him for a millennia, an obsession for an entity opposite of himself. If he could conquer her? Her powers of light and strength would complete his majesty of darkness.
The Angel of Willpower, Willa Mae finds that her strength may be her downfall, as she fights hard to permeate mankind with the will to survive. In her quest to imbue hope and strength to those who despair, she steps on Death’s toes and he vows revenge on the dark beauty.
After all, the Death Angel, Bane has a reputation to maintain, but how well will he deal with a blow to his fragile ego once he learns the truth about the object of his coveted obsession?  A revelation that shatters his ideal of the Angel of a seemingly innocent Will.

Bane stood like a malevolent statue of marbled wrath, his fury filling the room, the essence of apocalyptic destruction almost suffocating her.
“I’m sorry darling, really I am,” she taunted before seductively licking her lips. Will didn’t know why she enjoyed teasing the Death Angel so much. She just did, maybe it was his self-serving ego that was filled with plagues and blood drenched ideals.  He focused so much on developing a powerful image to the world that he entirely neglected to see that he had his own vulnerabilities to deal with.
Willa took as much pleasure in mocking him as she did molding weak humans into strong-willed people.
The master of endings continued to suffocate her with his wraithlike essence, without laying a finger on her. She closed her eyes, almost succumbing to the delicious asphyxiation.  She moaned with the overpowering intoxication which penetrated her ethereal power as she helplessly gyrated her hips while Bane reached out and tweaked a nipple.
“You,” he whispered breathlessly. You’re so wickedly cruel.” He shook his head as he stepped out of his long black cloak. It’s a shame I must torture you tonight, Will. I don’t really want to hurt you,” he paused as a wicked gleam filled his eyes—“much, but you’ve made a fool out of me for the very last time.”
As Bane circled her, he reached out to touch her satiny brown skin, allowing his fingertips to rake across her flesh. Struggling against her restraints, she closed her eyes and savored his touch. It felt like flames were dancing in the wake of his fingertips. Slowly, with a sensual slide, they eased their way along the inside of her thigh. “These are in the way,” he growled as he looked into her into her eyes and grasped the lacey thong, tearing the flimsy material from her body.
Glorious, silky looking thick black hair framed his stern face, and the look in his blazing eyes warned her that most likely, he’d ravish her until the sun rose.
For a brief moment, she yearned to know what the deep, mouth-to-mouth kiss of the Reaper would feel like.
“Mmm,” he murmured. “I knew you would like that.” His hand crept further along her thigh. “Ohh, Will. I do believe I’ve found your weakness.”
“I’m not weak, I assure you.”
He arched his brow. “Oh? That explains why you’re so damned wet and ready to be fucked.” Bane disappeared for a few moments, and suddenly reappeared holding a large black chest adorned with silver studs.
An alarm went off inside her head as he pumped his cock several times. The large thickly veined member appeared to grow, not just longer, but thicker. She swallowed hard as he retrieved a black whip from the chest.
“So. You wish to experience the exquisite Kiss of Death?”
Willa shuddered at the thought, because she knew she’d enjoy all the wickedly sinful pleasure Bane had to offer her. “No, I do not.” She was determined  to make this at least a little difficult for him. “As a matter of fact baby, I have a little surprise for you.”
“What might that be?”
Willa let out a devilish laugh. “You’ll see.”

CHARISMA:  Gracen, thank you so much for having me on your blog. You must come over to mine one day!
